Mouse in the House – Tate Jackson – 750 words (Children 4 – 8)
Amy takes her pet mouse, Mousie, to dinner and it isn’t long before things start to go awry. Cheese, sausages and cake all disappear from the table; meanwhile Mousie the mouse is getting fatter and fatter. Unable to help himself the greedy mouse steals yet another piece of cake, with hilarious consequences.
Mouse in the House
“Mousie,” called Amy, “I’m ready to go.”
Quickly, Mousie raced from behind the fridge and jumped into Amy’s little pink bag.
Mousie the mouse is a mischievous mouse. He is greedy and sneaky and sometimes very silly. But he is Amy’s secret friend and she loves him anyway and always takes him wherever she goes.
Amy climbed into the back seat of the family car and whispered into her bag.
