‘You’ve got to slow down and take time to smell the roses.’ Mum’s voice echoed in my head, even though she had passed away over a year ago. I sat in my car drumming my fingers on the steering wheel to the thoughts. I had turned off the radioso I didn’t have to hear once more how hot the day had been. Traffic was bumper to bumper. To try and cool down I had wound down the windows and put the fan on high. But that didn’t help much. The air conditioning in my blue Suzuki was dead.
