I knew as soon as Sam tried to sell me an organic hat, he was different. I had gone into the shop for some apples.

“It’s blowing a blizzard out there,” he informed me cheerfully. “One of Sam’s special hats is just what you need, and it’s organic!” He swooped into a bow, plucking a knitted bundle from a hook.
