The parking meter said there was still one hour of parking time left.
The shame was the driver had gone, taking their ticket with them. One hour wasted. But the parking space was available, can’t have everything in this life. Slide the car into the slot, pay for a ticket, drop it on the dash for the ever intrusive traffic wardens to see, lock the door and go.
To what?
Why had he asked for the meeting? And in such a public place?
