Norman works in the corner shop owned by Sally. His contrary ways and awkwardness, sometimes get Sally down, but a visitor one day upsets the running of the shop, both for Norman and Sally.

“For goodness sake Norman, stop flitting about like a little old woman!”
He was really trying her patience today. Sally needed to get away for a while. “I’m just popping upstairs to the flat. I’ll make us a cup of tea, won’t be long.”
There had been countless times over the years when Sally had to smooth things over with irate customers, after Norman had offended them with his forthright opinions.
