3300 words Humour
There comes a time when it is necessary to make a stand against injustice and attempt to put right certain wrongs – or so David decided when a neighbour’s cat was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver. Against the advice of his bemused wife and embarrassed daughter, he gives up his job and makes a placard in order to become a protester.
This story is included in the Essence of Humour collection
Our daughter, Poppy, having left for school only five minutes earlier, ran back into the house in tears. She was almost hysterical and it was some time before I could make sense of what was wrong. I finally got it out of her that she had just seen our neighbour’s cat, Mr Tibbs, knocked down and killed by a hit-and-run driver.
