1500 Ghost Story / Humour
An undiscovered diamond mine turns Melville into a killer. His partner's retribution however, is priceless.
James Melville stood in the centre of the room, feet slightly apart and hands in his trouser pockets. A short, rather plain-looking man, his slender frame and narrow neck belied his strength, the same strength that moments earlier had killed his business partner, Gerald Holt. He looked at the body lying at his feet – the closed eyes, the calm features, the right arm resting peacefully on the carpet, and contemplated why the attitude conveyed sleep rather than death. He had not derived any personal pleasure from committing the murder, though he had been a little surprised that it had been easier and quicker than expected.
