I have owned / lived with many dogs. Jenny an Airedale when I was a baby. She guarded our pram. Then Lucy Mantanes, a Lakeland Terrier. She owned a town house in Chelsea and lived with us for 16 years! During her reign there was Cholmonderley, an English Springer Spaniel. He died the third time he was run over, chasing his tail out into the street. And Edgar, a Dalmatian, who ate pony nuts, put his head in the bushes and pooed in the lane and peed like a girl because Lucy taught him thus!
I was inspired to write The Nanny by my black cat, Velvet. She seems to have magic powers.
And my dad and I used to read Winnie The Pooh – do you recall that from Pooh Bear
